The Roar Staff 2007
Many people put many tireless hours into making The Roar the coolest festival in the city. The volunteers and organizers are truly the heart of The Roar. Lets introduce them, shall we?

Thomas Trofimuk
Festival Director. Thomas is the guy who, along with a few other drunkards, created The Roar. You could say that he's to blame for the whole thing, but truth is, this thing would be nowhere without him. Thomas books the acts, talks to the media, makes appearances, and makes the whole thing look easy (it isn't, just so you know).
Mike Gravel
Festival Producer. Normally he's busting Trofimuk's balls about something, but Gravel is sitting out the Roar 2007 due to his impending nuptials. He's sitting on the sidelines watching the whole thing take shape. Mike designed this site for The Roar. View his portfolio here.
Gordon McRae
Associate Festival Director. The calm, voice of reason and enthusiastic supporter of anything that has a beat (the weirder the better). He writes brilliant poetry, quirky and wild novels, and is a key member of the Raving Poets Band. Invaluable member of the inner sanctum of the Roar production team.
Mandie Lopatka
Event Coordinator. Mandie is a treasured friend of The Roar. She's putting in a ton of legwork on securing venues and working out venue logistics. She's a sweet talker and has a knack for taking care of those extra details that make The Roar cook.
Adam Snider
Event Support. Adam is busy securing the millions of dollars in insurance that The Roar has been forced to procure. After last year's sweatshop incident, The Roar has come under scrutiny from CSIS and the Edmonton Police. Adam's job is to keep the law at bay, and The Roar on its feet. It's no easy task, trust us.
Nicole Pakan
Event Support. Nicole provides logistical support for the many Roar venues. She's also (partly) responsible for a reading entitled "The Whisper", which occurs on Saturday, September 22, 2007. Stay tuned for more details on that.
Mary Pinkoski
Event Support. Mary is busy booking some venues and making sure that those venues know how cool it is to be associated with The Roar. She's a great friend of The Roar and is pounding the pavement to make sure that it comes off without a hitch.
Patrick Pilarski
Zen shaman and resident haiku master, Patrick Pilarski is putting in many hours on a computer simulation that will allow the Roar to happen in a virtually-rendered environment. You won't have to leave your La-Z Boy to hear and see E-Towns finest poets rock the mic! Well, maybe not. Patrick is busy with "The Whisper" reading (more details to follow).
